David Royer

Always fascinated by dance, but afraid to try it, Jonah finally experienced partner dancing while involved in a church community group. Expecting it to be a one-time thing, he instead found a passion and affinity for it, and began taking regular lessons and classes to learn and expand his skills. Social dancing ballroom dance styles for many years, he began competition in the American Smooth and International Standard Styles before discovering and falling in love with West Coast Swing. Currently, he travels several weekends per month to compete and social dance on the West Coast Swing circuit.

Melissa Pylant

Melissa has always loved to dance. She started as a child in ballet and then transitioning to jazz. In December 2006, a friend at her church convinced her to take a ballroom class and that was all it took for her to fall in love with ballroom and Latin dances. Melissa has traveled across the United States, competing as an amateur competitor in American Smooth, International Standard, American Rhythm and International Latin styles. Currently she enjoys traveling, social dancing and competing in the Advanced level in the West Coast Swing Circuit. Melissa found dance to be a powerful tool to help people discover and express different parts of themselves. She feels very blessed to be able to share her love for dancing with her students.
